Identifying Members

Financial institutions are required to identify members when they open a new savings, investment or loan account or become a signatory to an account. This procedure will occur once only and will involve verifying your full name, date of birth and residential address.

Identification is legislated under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth), which is designed to help prevent people from using the financial system for tax evasion, money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
